The purpose of the Republican Town Committee is to elect members to their committee. This is mandated by State Election Laws to occur between January 8 and 15, 2008. All registered members are urged to attend and participate.
A slate will be presented and additional nominees will come from the floor.
Registered party members will then elect the Town Committee Candidates of choice.





May 10th Sean Sullivan received the unanimous endorsement from the delegates in attendance at the second congressional district nominating convention.

43rd House of Representatives May 15th convention delegates endorsed Republican candidate Brian Kluberdanz of Stonington, CT.

Brian Kluberdanz will be attending the Republican Town Committee Meeting. You do not have to be a Committee member to attend this meeting.

The May 19, 2008 Special Town Meeting reconvened at 8:14 pm on May 27, 2008 following the Referendum, the results were read by the Moderator Bob Shabunia:

“Shall the Town of North Stonington approve the estimates and recommendations of the Board of Finance with respect to the annual budget for fiscal year July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009, in the amount of $ 5,938,323 for the General Government, including Redemption of Debt and Capital and make specific appropriation and authorize expenditures in, connection therewith as appear advisable?”

Additional nominations are encouraged from the Caucus floor since your Town Committee is well aware that we are not the only ones knowledgeable of all qualified Republicans interested in running for office.

The Republican Town Committee has 25 members giving of their time and resources. We meet the fourth Monday at 7:30 P.M. in the New Town Hall meeting room. Visitors and new residents are always welcome to come to one of our meetings to learn of our activities.
